Senior Virtual Experience Designer

Brown + Hudson is leading luxury travel’s high-speed evolution into hyper-reality - where physical experiences converge with virtual reality. 

Already well-known for creating uniquely impactful and memorable real-world travel experiences, we now create a range of virtual experiences. 

These include VR experiences based on real-world travel experiences and virtual-only journeys into bespoke worlds created specifically for our clients.

We also provide guides to virtual worlds and create virtual short breaks. These deliver many of the insights, benefits and connection of real-world travel in addition to the numerous positives of computer gaming and virtual worlds. 

We’re looking for a Senior Virtual Experience Designer to bring our virtual travel experiences to life.

You will need to be well-travelled and have solid experience of :

• Experience and transformation design
• Journey design
• Narrative design
• Travel psychology
• Cultural design
• Game design

 

You’ll need a broad skillset and ultimately a focus on experience design. You’re someone who will be hands-on in: needs analysis, conceptualization, prototyping, running test sessions, simple programming and working with external programmers. You’ll deliver products, collaborate with a diverse team ranging from travel designers, creatives, copywriters, software developers and 3rd party vendors to create and build compelling, innovative and impactful virtual experiences.

You’ll be a key member of the team that designs virtual experiences for our clients.

Responsibilities

• Leverage insights into the reality and psychology of travel and identify client needs and challenges
• Synthesize input into clear problem statements and translate into creative briefs
• Use design thinking and other methods to ideate and conceptualize creative solutions
• Synthesize ideas into clear and compelling propositions and communicate internally and to clients
• Guide the development of assets, ranging from digital / physical experiences, animation, film, VR and AR etc. 
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and manage external vendors
• Demonstrate curiosity, and expertise across immersive experience design, game design, digital / tech innovation, and visual design
• Teach, mentor and coach new team members as we expand our team
