Over-tourism, climate change and a global pandemic have given us the perfect opportunity to reconsider how important travel is to us.

Have you ever thought that while your travel experiences were good, they could somehow be way better? Perhaps more impactful, transformative or just more memorable?

Today, the key to substantially improved travel is to shift your attention from where you want to travel, to who you are as a traveller and why you're travelling at all.

By better understanding who you are you'll make smarter decisions about why and how you should travel and where you should be going.

The REVISIT VIP Traveller Type Test (VIP TTT) is the first in-depth psychometric questionnaire specifically designed to measure your psychological preferences as a traveller.

This definitive test relies on the importance of your motivations, personality traits and interests when developing your travel preferences and habits. Also, in determining how and where to travel.

The foundations of our work are the typological theories proposed by Ernest Tupes and Raymond Christal, and later Dr. Lewis Goldberg at the Oregon Research Institute.

This test has been devised in collaboration with two noted travel-focused psychologists. Dr. Jaime Kurtz is Professor of Psychology at James Madison University, in Harrisonburg, Virginia, while Andrijana Pujić's area of expertise is psychometrics and the design of personality trait assessments.

Identifying the motives that energize your travel behaviour, we uncover the dominant motive, based on Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory. We also apply the Big 5 specific trait facets relevant to travel to compose your specific traveller personality profile. Layered into this complex combination of variables we use Neidhardt et al. picture-based approach and 7-factor model to capture your dominant interests in terms of travel activities.

The test comes has two equally important parts and should take you around 10 minutes to complete.

Take your time. The more effort you devote to the questions, the more you'll get out of them. In beta research 89% percent of participants reported that the test experience was enjoyable and 95% found the results insightful and valuable.

Some of the questions may seem vague or irrelevant. This is a deliberate part of the evaluation process. Please don't dwell on any of the questions. Write what instinctively seems like the right answer.

It's important that you answer all questions to obtain the most rounded results possible.

The results of your REVISIT VIP (TTT) will be presented in 8 detailed travel profiles that offer a representation of your specific travel motivation, personality and interests.

Using all these aspects of you as a traveller, we compose a specific and unique recommendation how to travel better, the kinds of destinations that may best suit you and the kinds of things you might do there to fully understand the place.

We also include an extract from REVISIT'S founder's upcoming book REVISIT - The New Art and Science of Luxury Travel. This will teach you how to get 9X more benefits from your travels.

We hope you find your results and report instructive and thought-provoking. Please share it with those around you.

By taking the test, they, like you, will begin to think differently about travel.
